I’m always looking for easy breakfast ideas. Mornings are one of the most hectic times of day in my home. I am NOT a morning person. About the only thing I want to deal with first thing in the morning is coffee – and a lot of it. Unfortunately, people think that they need to eat in the morning before they head off to work. Since sugar coated breakfast cereal is not on my list of things I want to feed people, I needed to come up with something healthy and easy. I love steel cut oats but they take a long time to cook, and I don’t have that time in the morning. Since I bought my Instant Pot, I wanted to learn how to make Instant Pot steel cut oats.

Easy Breakfast Ideas: How to Make Instant Pot Steel Cut Oats
I’ve had my Instant Pot for about a month and I am so glad I bought it. It’s such a huge time saver. For those that aren’t familiar with it, an Instant Pot is a programmable pressure cooker. I got the Bluetooth Enabled Instant Pot (Instant Pot Smart) so I can monitor it when I’m working and so it can send me notifications on my iPhone – but basically because it’s fun to play with. From the app on my iPhone, I can check the temperature and the pressure and see how long it has to finish.
I played around with this recipe a bit using ingredients I had on hand. You could easily change the fruit and nuts to whatever flavor combination you enjoy. I use maple syrup for a sweetener because it comes from the trees in our back yard, but if you prefer you could use honey or stevia. Try to stay away from the processed sugars.
