If you’ve ever been to Macaroni Grill before, you may think that this rosemary artisan bread recipe tastes like theirs. I’d agree. It’s a great addition to any Italian meal like spaghetti, lasagna or even my ravioli lasagna recipe. Or, you enjoy a slice with a side salad and call it lunch.

Items You Will Need to Make your Macaroni Grill Bread Recipe

Baking Sheet – Unlike many bread recipes, you don’t bake this in a loaf pan. Instead, you will bake it on a baking sheet and allow it to rise free form. I prefer aluminum because it is durable and will never rust.

Parchment Paper – Line your baking sheet with parchment paper rather than using a non-stick spray. It helps disperse the heat more evenly and won’t make the bottom of your bread too crunchy. I prefer unbleached parchment paper because it’s better for the environment.

Pro tips for my Italian Rosemary Bread Recipe

There really is nothing like a hearty loaf of warm homemade bread. One of the most important tips I can offer you is to not over-knead your bread. I know it can be tempting to take all of your frustrations out on that poor loaf of bread. But, if you over-knead homemade bread, you’ll make it tough and chewy. You really want this bread to be light and fluffy with lots of holes for the butter to melt into.

If you’d like to boost up the garlic taste, you can turn this into a Rosemary Garlic Bread recipe by adding butter and minced garlic and grilling it in the oven for a few minutes until it’s crispy on top.

If you haven’t yet, try growing a small pot of rosemary on your windowsill. You won’t believe the taste difference between fresh and what comes in those little jars at the grocery store.
