FAQ – Chocolate Milkshake Recipe without Syrup

What can I use instead of chocolate syrup?

There are a lot of ways you can enjoy a chocolate shake without syrup but the most popular is to simply melt your healthy chocolate first.

You could also choose to use a chocolate protein powder or a raw cacao powder instead. If you choose to use cocoa powder, please look at the ingredients and opt for an organic one.

What’s the best protein powder?

I really love Orgain Organic Chocolate Creamy Chocolate Fudge. (you can get it here) It’s yummy and I love the ingredient list.

But, you can use another type of chocolate protein powder if you prefer? Or, you can use chocolate Greek yogurt for the same results.

How to make a chocolate shake without ice cream

Ice cream is not all that healthy for the most part. It tends to be super high in sugar and artificial ingredients.

With this recipe, I have substituted Greek yogurt (plain) for the ice cream. This lowers the sugar and adds the needed protein.

If you absolutely must use ice cream, buy an organic version that isn’t high in sugar.

What are the best ingredients to add-in?

Because I love the combination of strawberries and chocolate, I’ve used frozen strawberries in this recipe.

You can substitute a frozen banana instead if you’d prefer. It’s all up to you. This is definitely a family favorite chocolate milkshake recipe.

  3. Did I miss it - where is the chocolate? Is it the mega chuncks? I am not familiar with that product. I love having smoothies all year long too.
