Paleo Shrimp Salad Recipe
I’ve been following the Paleo diet for a few weeks now and one of the hardest things I’m having to adjust to is the absence of pasta. Normally, pasta is my ingredient of choice when I am rushed for time.
Of course, there is no pasta allowed on the Paleo diet so I had to start thinking outside of the box. Since I cannot have a traditional shrimp pasta salad on the Paleo diet, I decided to see if I could come up with a Paleo shrimp salad recipe instead.
Can I have a Paleo seafood salad?
You can use any type of seafood in this recipe. Try it with crab, lobster, or tuna if you prefer.
Can you have pasta on the paleo diet?
Normally, in the summer, I would load up on pasta salad. But, since pasta isn’t allowed on the Paleo diet, I decided to make the base of this salad vegetables instead.
That makes it much lower in carbs and acceptable for someone following the Paleo diet. There are Paleo kinds of pasta available but I honestly haven’t found any that I really like yet.
If you want to experiment and find one you do like, please let me know.
I love that this lets me enjoy the taste of shrimp in a salad that isn’t loaded with pasta or rice. It’s the perfect Paleo meal for a busy night or take it with you for lunch instead.
